I’ve fiddled with my look so it can carry me from a café to the Crillon lobby and back by day. It’s more Right Bank than Left, although one of my favorite men’s clothing stores, Arnys, is on the Left Bank
, at 14 rue de Sèvres; more cashmere than corduroy; more blue and gray than brown and green (Italian colors). It’s double-breasted sports jackets and woven wool ties by day, French cuffs and a Charvet silk tie (gotta support the home team) by night. It may all sound like too much trouble but in fact it’s a real pleasure, and as we all know clothing and courtship are ardent bedfellows.
