The surging economy in the early-mid 1980s gave rise to an impressive spectacle between the office towers and the MBTA stations around lunch time and at the end of the working day: a generous and sustained flow of fluffy, preppy, yuppie secretaries and various other kinds of office assistants walking around downtown Boston.
