A Ferris wheel on the north side of the Tuileries Garden, seen in front of buildings on rue de Rivoli. between rue du 29 Juillet and rue Saint-Roch. This was the second instance of a wheel set up in the garden, its height of almost 200 feet allowed people to enjoy breathtaking views over the river Seine, the champs-Élysées, the Louvre Museum and the rest of Paris from its 48 gondolas. Paris City Hall has been alternately granting and refusing permission for the wheel to be set up every few years ever since the first wheel was raised in place de la Concorde in December 1999 to celebrate the milenium
