The Eiffel Tower seen from the heights of Belleville, a neighborhood in the northeast of Paris

The view looking southeast down rue de Belleville towards the Eiffel Tower from the intersection of rue des Pyrénées. Belleville is a neighborhood famous for unrest and protests during revolutionary times, thus when the quarter was annexed by the city of Paris in 1860 it was split in to four administrative districts with rue de Belleville dividing the 19th and 20th arrondissements, a classic example of gerrymandering.
