Tail lights of cars, taxis and a tourist bus heading west past l’Institut de France on quai de Conti towards quai Malaquais and the French National Institute of Fine Arts, seen from pont des Arts. The construction of quai Malaquais dates back to the second half of the 16th century, it was first called quai «Mal-Acquest» (improperly acquired), from the name of its neighboring port on the River Seine.
